Jessica Rodgers was hired in Fall 2018 to resurrect the Mission College softball program which had been dormant for four seasons. She was the head coach for one season.

Rodgers was the SMC's all-time win leader (278), produced the school's only winning seasons and won two conference titles in her 14 seasons in Moraga (2005-18).

Rodgers led her alma mater to Pacific Coast Softball Conference titles in 2010 and 2012 and finished third in 2007 and 2014. She led the Gaels to their only NCAA Regional appearance following a PCSC Conference Tournament title in 2010. She was named the PCSC Coach of the Year in both 2010 and 2012.

She led the Gaels to a program-best 30-23 overall record with a 14-4 PCSC conference record in 2010. She followed that up with a 26-23 mark and 15-4 PCSC record in 2012. She had an overall coaching record of 278-435-1.

Mission College went 1-17 in 2019.

Rodgers was an assistant at Saint Mary's from 2002-04. The Gaels also participated in the Walk for Breast Cancer and fed the homeless at Glide Memorial Church during her time on campus 

The former Jessica Hanaseth graduated from Saint Mary's with a degree in Health Physical Education and Recreation with a teaching emphasis in 2001. She finished her playing career second in career RBIs (84), third in doubles (19) and with with a .284 career  batting average.
