Chabot 6, Mission College 3

The Mission Saints lost their season opener on Friday 6-3 to visiting Chabot College.  The match lasted nearly four and a half hours and featured the collegiate debuts of several players.  The Saints led 2-1 after the doubles matches thanks to wins by Melanie Osborne/Lara Norman-Stowers and Amanda Ramos/Renine Johansen.  Osborne and Norman-Stowers rallied from a 6-2 deficit to win 9-7.  The Saints fought hard in the singles matches but only managed to win one match as Sherry Keogh dug deep for a 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 win.  Mission is back in action this Wednesday at Cabrillo College.  First serve is at 2pm.
