Five Named All-Coast South
Four Mission College Saints were named to the All-Coast South team on Tuesday led by middle infielder Nico Malbrough, first baseman Alex Adame, utilityman Jason Siri and reliever Callum Olsen. All were first team selections for the 23-16-1 Saints. Catcher Tevis Payne II was an honorable mention selection at catcher.
Adame drove in a team-best 38 runs, leading the team with 17 doubles and six homers while batting .342 with a .610 slugging percentage. Adame struck out just nine times all year in 146 at-bats. He ranked fourth in the Coast South in RBIs (38) and seventh in batting (.342). Adame hit .330 in two seasons with the Saints.
Malbrough had 15 doubles and a team-best 32 runs to go along with a .363 average. Malbrough was a transfer from San Jose State. He ranked fifth in the Coast South in batting.
Siri was 4-3 with a 3.70 ERA over 58.1 innings. Siri struck out 62 and walked 16 over 10 starts. He hit .240 with 20 runs at the plate. Siri spent the 2020 season at Cuesta College.
Olsen anchored the bullpen by allowing 13 hits over 21.0 innings over 15 games with a 2-0 record and 2.14 ERA. Olsen did not allow a run over his final seven appearances.
Payne hit .318 with 25 runs on the season. He ended the season hitting safely in 14 of 17 games.
