Ashley Carter has joined the Saints Athletics Department to help revive the Softball program, doing so starting in 2020.

She was the head coach at Notre Dame de Namur in 2017 and 2018 and an assistant coach at Menlo College in 2016 and 2019.

She is also the Senior Enrollment Management Specialist at Menlo College. This position assists students through the enrollment process so that their transition from the high school, community college or previous four years, is as seamless as possible.

Carter has also served in the role of Associate Director of Admissions. Within that role, she helped coach the admissions counselors through the biggest enrollment class of Menlo College's history, bringing in 364 new students.

While at NDNU, Carter’s main focus was to build the complete athlete experience to develop life and leadership skills within her players. Not only did the culture change within this program, but each year the program progressed in offensive numbers and wins. NDNU was 22-76 in two seasons.

Before NDNU, Carter was a volunteer assistant coach under Coach Matt Lisle at Menlo College. The first-year coaching staff created a new culture of success for Menlo Softball, including:

- Winning 20 games on the season (30-20 overall), which was the most since 2002.

- Moving into the preseason tournament as the 1st place team in their first year as a competing team within the GSAC.

- Breaking five single season records: homers (49), batting average (.319), slugging (.490), hits (435) and runs (297)

- Breaking individual season records in: homers (15),  hits (72), runs (43), and RBIs (43).

Carter played Division-I softball at Grambling State University. After earning her Kinesiology degree (2008) and her Sports Administration Master’s Degree (2010) from Grambling State, she relocated to Albuquerque, NM., where she interned in Stadium Operations, with the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes.

For the next four years, Carter was the head softball coach at La Cueva High School (2012-2015). They reined as the District Champions and competed in the state tournament, all four years of her tenure as head coach. Players from her program went onto play in Division-I, Division-II and in the NAIA , all while holding GPA’s of 3.6 and above.
